A field of nearly 40 Can-Am cars is expected to be in action at the 2016 WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman presented by Hawk next month at Elkhart Lake’s Road America. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the fabled unlimited SCCA series, they will tackle the scenic four miles of “America’s National Park of Speed” to remind everyone just how spectacular these essentially unrestricted racers could be.
If preliminary entry lists can be believed, 16 Lolas and a dozen McLarens will headline the assemblage, which will also include examples of McKees, Shadows and a handful of one-offs. These cars hail from 19 U.S. states and six foreign countries — Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
