The Auctions America Auburn Spring 2015 sale was held May 7-9 at the Auburn Auction Park in Auburn, Indiana, resulting in more than $5.5 million in total sales and a 77 percent sell-through rate. The multi-day auction attracted bidders from eight countries as well as 34 states across the United States, with 30 percent representing first-time Auctions America clientele.

Top sale honors at the Auctions America Auburn Spring 2015 sale went to a 2006 Ford GTX1 TT Spyder, one of 30 examples produced by Ford-authorized coachbuilder Genaddi Design Group.Distinguished by its 5.4-liter V-8 powerplant delivering 1,000-hp, this American supercar sold for $330,000. A 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet secured the event’s second highest sale at $299,750. Rarities of the 1980s also continued to pick up speed, with a turbocharged 1987 Buick GNX, showing 119 original miles, realizing $110,000.

In addition to the auction, the weekend featured a car corral and swap meet, along with the return of the Antique Automobile Club of America’s (AACA) Special National Spring Meet. Members of the largest club in the world dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of antique automobiles gathered from 29 states across the country, including Hawaii, along with representation from Canada. Attendance increased by 72 percent over the 2014 meet, with hundreds of club members and enthusiasts stopping by to celebrate the more than 250 cars and trucks on display.

Auctions America continues its 2015 calendar with the company’s third annual California sale, July 17–18. Moving to a new location and date for 2015, the multi-day auction will be held at Santa Monica’s historic Barker Hangar. The summer auction action concludes with Auctions America’s flagship Auburn Fall event, a Labor Day weekend tradition that will bring 800 collector cars back to Indiana on September 2–6.
