  1. Jamie, as always, SCD allows me the privilege of attending the Goodwood Festival with outstanding coverage and photos. It has been a “bucket list” wish of mine for many years to attend the Festival. Though your commentary and photos I can only imagine the thrill of seeing the historic scope of vehicles.as well as the drivers who have made the sport come alive for me. Thank you for covering the event so well, perhaps I’ll be able to check off that item on my “list” sometime in the future!

    1. Thanks Tal. Much appreciated! While we do enjoy bringing the Festival to your computer, we do encourage you to check it off the bucket list one day. It’s certainly worth the effort.

  2. What a treat, seeing all these great shots of some of the best drivers, riders and vehicles on the planet! Thanks for making this available folks. I’ve just retired and I am going to make Goodwood a priority over the next couple of years.

  3. Wonderful photo montage. Thank you for the joy of vicariously enjoying what has to be one of the world’s greatest automotive events.

  4. Valentino was obviously having the time of his life, what didn’t he get to ride/drive !! Thanks for the wonderful coverage, I can almost smell the burning rubber…

  5. Why no picture or mention, of the car and driver that made the fastest time of the day?
Olly Clark drove a perfect, well judged run in his Subaru, to beat all the competition hands down.

  6. You have captured two pictures of Alpines, an A110 and A442b, as Renault Alpine. That is a common mistake and is not correct; I am sure that you would not refer to a Lancia Stratos or a Ferrari as a Fiat, or a Lanborghini or Bugatti as an Audi.

Société des Automobiles Alpine was founded by Jean Rédélé and the Certificat de Dépôt d’Acte that recognised the foundation of Société des Automobiles Alpine was issued by the Tribunal de Commerce de la Seine on 22 June 1955. Renault did not take a controlling interest in 1973 and the marque designation was then changed to Alpine Renault.

Up to Renault’s acquisition of Alpine the chassis plaques on A110 show the manufacturer as Société des Automobiles Alpine, 13 rue Forest, Paris and after Renault’s acquisition of the company the manufacturer was changed to Société Alpine Renault, Dieppe 76.

So the correct marque designation for the cars is Alpine for the cars built up to Renault’s acquisition of the company and Alpine Renault after that date.

The chassis plaque on A442b number 4423 shows the manufacturer as Société des Automobiles Alpine, 13 rue Forest, Paris.
