Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance 2011 Information

1947 Talbot-Lago CabrioletThe Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance 2011 will be held at Reliant Stadium in Houston on Saturday, June 11 from 12pm to 5pm, and Sunday, June 12 from 10am to 6pm, benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children – Houston/Galveston.
More than 100 automobiles will be on display at Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance 2011, highlighted by a 1931 Bugatti Type 40A, 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, 1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster and a 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLK 722 McLaren Sterling Moss. Special featured cars for 2011 will be vintage Hot Rods of Distinction and significant Post-War Sports Cars.
“We are thrilled to announce that Classy Chassis has been extended to two days. This year we have another stellar line-up of storied and rare automobiles that will amaze car enthusiasts of all ages,” says Clay Becker, Founder and Chairman of Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance.
A popular attraction returning this year is the Ride & Drive. For a rider’s fee, guests will have an opportunity to ride in a Ferrari, Lamborghini or one of many other modern super cars. All ages are welcomed at Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance – from live music to children’s activities – the event provides entertainment for the entire family.

Lee Stallings, III, Chairman, Board of Governors for Shriners Hospitals for Children – Houston. “Participating in this world-class event allows us to share our story with many more people, and help even more children who may not receive medical treatment otherwise.”
Jim Simpson from Whidbey Island, Washington will again serve as chief judge of the Concours event, leading a team of experts in the selection of award winners. Cars will be judged according to French Concours standards (“judging light”) with first, second and third places awarded in each class along with a number of additional special awards, and concluding with the “Best in Show” award announced at the show’s conclusion on Sunday afternoon.
Automotive artist Bill Neale is designing the Classy Chassis Concours d’Elegance 2011 commemorative artwork, which will reflect the special feature – vintage Hot Rods of Distinction and significant Post-War Sports Cars. The original artwork will be displayed and auctioned at a private reception held Saturday evening, June 11, at Reliant Stadium.
Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 through 12, and children age five and under are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster or at the gate. Parking at Reliant Park is $10 per vehicle.
