Moving back to the traditional long public holiday weekend at the end of August certainly paid dividends for the organizers, spectators and contestants; numbers were considerably up on recent years. Of course, it wouldn’t be England if it didn’t rain but thankfully the couple of showers were brief and it was T-shirts for the rest of the weekend!
