Barrett-Jackson will be sending a stream of coveted convertibles across the auction block during its 15th Annual Palm Beach Auction, April 6-8, 2017, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Those offerings include a droptop for almost every taste, including a rare 2003 BMW Z8 Alpina, an untouched 1971 Chevelle SS LS5.

Among the convertibles available in Palm Beach will be the 336th of only 555 BMW Z8 Alpinas built in 2003 (above, photo courtesy of Barrett-Jackson). With only 36,000 miles its odometer, it features a full automatic transmission and all the luxury amenities, including a factory flip phone, 6-disc CD and rack for the hardtop.
Also of interest will be a stunning 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible. An impressive example of an untouched, all-original Chevelle, this rare muscle car features almost every option available in 1971, including a black power top, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, F41 suspension, ZL2 cowl induction, factory air conditioning, AM/FM radio, power steering, power disc brakes, glove box light, tachometer and gauge package and bucket seats with a horseshoe shifter.
One non-convertible of note is a rare 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 known as KK #1717 is one of 271 cars made in Wimbledon White by the factory. Options on this extremely rare matching-numbers Boss Mustang include a 4-speed close-ratio transmission, Traction-Lok differential, power front disc brakes, deluxe interior, functional front spoiler and competition suspension.
