Lotus has been named the official marque for the inaugural Legends of Motorsports race weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. The event at the Birmingham, Alabama race facility is slated for May 21-23, 2010.
“From Formula One to public roads, the Lotus name has earned a deserved legacy of style and success,” stated Bobby Rahal, partner, Historic Motorsports Productions (HMP), which owns and promotes the Legends of Motorsports series. “The evolution of this unique brand will be on full display throughout the Barber Motorsports Park event. Guests will have great opportunities to see up close many Lotus models grouped in a special reserved display area. In addition, the unique Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum houses one of the largest and most pristine Lotus collections anywhere.”
Along with the trackside Lotus display, event attendees will see a host of Lotus cars in competition during a special Lotus-exclusive race.

In addition to the Barber Motorsports Park event, Legends of Motorsports will hold 2010 feature events at New York’s Watkins Glen International, June 10-13, and Canada’s Circuit Mont Tremblant on July 8-11.
Advance tickets for the full, three-day event are $45, while tickets for Saturday or Sunday are $25. Paddock access is free, and additional options are being offered for hospitality, camping and sports car corral parking. As always, children 12 and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult.
