A one-off Alfa Romeo RL Normale Coupé de Ville (above) will be featured at the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance at Salon Privé, scheduled for September 1-3 on the South Lawn of Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, UK. This remarkable one-of-one car, which has never been seen at Salon Privé, was delivered new in Barcelona, bodied in striking Caoba wood by celebrated European coachbuilder J. Farré.
It will be joined by another magnificent Italian car, a recently restored 1956 Ferrari 500 Testa Rossa that scored consecutive victories in the 1956 and 1957 Nassau Speed Weeks. The car has been lured out of hiding — having been in storage for more than 50 years — to compete in the “Racing Improves the Breed” class. One of just 18 examples built, it also finished 2nd in class in the Cuban Gran Prix of 1957.
Also scheduled to appear is an extraordinary 1923 Voisin Type C6 Laboratoire, a rolling laboratory for Gabriel Voisin’s experimental technology from the Mullin Museum in California. This car’s streamlined profile was inspired by the wing of an airplane, and its monocoque structure is a wonder to behold. It is entered in the Voisins – Aviation to Automotive class.
The confirmed 2016 Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance classes are:
50 Years of the Lamborghini Miura

Racing Improves the Breed
Porsche Racing Pedigree
Prancing Horse Racing Pedigree
