Jacky Ickx in the Ferrari 312B leads the field away from the start of the French Grand Prix at the open-road Charade Circuit on July 5, 1970. Ickx would lead the first 15 laps before his engine failed. Jochen Rindt eventually found himself in the lead with his Lotus 72, and went on to claim the win with Chris Amon taking 2nd in a March 701.
