George Dowson, the co-designer of this sophisticated pre-war Lightweight Special, is seen demonstrating it at the Cockfosters Rally on July 14, 1945. His partner in creating this little racing car was the famous designer Alec Issigonis, father of the Mini. This image is typical of what could be seen at the informal speed events organized in England just after World War II.
