One of the odd things about being a motor racing enthusiast is that most of us have no idea what the rules are. I know the entire rulebook for the 1950 Formula One and it says that engines shall be no more than 4500-cc unblown or 1500-cc supercharged. Do you know the maximum permitted size for the endplate of a front wing on a 2005 Formula One car?

The rules for the first eight World Championships (apart from the Indianapolis 500) dealt only with the size of the engine. Then, in 1958, came an additional rule, which said that cars had to run on petrol, though it could be 130 octane Avgas.
