• This year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, scheduled for August 18-21 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the SCCA’s Trans-Am Series by hosting three dozen original Trans-Am cars that will perform for the crowd on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of race weekend. The Trans-Am thus joins the Can-Am, another SCCA series born in 1966, on the Rolex Reunion schedule as this year’s 43rd annual event unfolds. • Masters Historic Racing will celebrate the life of James Hunt at this year’s Masters Historic Festival on May 28-29 on the 40th anniversary of his Formula One World Championship success. The weekend will be headlined by the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship, where a number of Hunt’s cars from period will be racing. Off track will be a display of Hunt’s original race kit and trophies, and James’ son Freddie will be racing in a Hesketh-liveried Mini in the Masters Pre-66 Touring car race and will also present trophies during the weekend. The winner of Sunday’s FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship race will receive The James Hunt Trophy. In true Hunt style, ’70s-themed party will take over the Masters Drivers Club on the Saturday night.

• Historic Sportscar Racing has announced a new series featuring the iconic racecars of the famed Porsche IROC series, to be known as the Classic RS Cup, which will be featured at five of HSR’s 2016 events, debuting at the picturesque Virginia International Raceway for the Wisko Grand Prix on Memorial Day weekend. May 26-29. The Classic RS Cup will then be featured at the Atlanta Fall Historics at Road Atlanta on September 15-18, the Savannah Speed Classic October 27-30 and the Daytona Historics November 10-13. • Historic Downtown Port Perry, Ontario, will once again play host to the 7th Annual Brits on the Lake Classic Motoring Revival, billed as the British motor event with a heart!
