The Peterson Museum in Los Angeles is filled with wonderful automotive treasures. The eye-catching post-war muscle cars, sports cars, exotic supercars and racecars are amongst the most popular with visitors. We are all fascinated with fast cars and the technology used to create them. One of the greatest performance cars of all time resides at The Petersen. It is a lightweight, low-slung, superior-handling, technologically advanced, extremely fast but small displacement, two-seat car that is one of the most coveted automobiles ever produced. These words could be used to describe an early Porsche, but in this case we are talking about the museum’s 1913 Mercer 35-J Raceabout.
