A 1995 McLaren F1 GTR ‘BMW Art Car’ will headline a new Artcurial auction to be held July 9th, 2010 at the Le Mans Classic. The inaugural Le Mans Classic sale will be run by Artcurial Motorcars and its newly structured Vintage Automobiles Department under director Matthieu Lamoure, marking a new chapter in the history of the firm.
The McLaren F1 GTR, which raced at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be joined by a 1962 Panhard Type CD coach aerodynamique, class winner at the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. Further entries include Porsche 935 Interscope, Lamborghini Miura SV and Bentley Speed Six 6.5 Litre Tourer Le Mans.
Vintage Automobiles Department Director Matthieu Lamoure began his career at Poulain-Le Fur in 2000, further proving his worth during six years at Bonhams, where he directed the Mainland Europe Motor Car Department for four years, and launched its French office, which he ran until he left the company.
Together with specialist Pierre Novikoff – his professional co-pilot for the last four years – and multilingual administrator Iris Hummel, the new Artcurial Motorcars team is delighted to announce that its first, innovative auctioncum-event will take place on July 9 at Le Mans Classic 2010.
