The Petersen Automotive Museum and Checkered Flag 200, the museum’s premier membership group, will present another gala tribute this November in honor of the SCCA’s Trans-American Sedan Championship. “Tribute to Trans-Am” will take place November 12, beginning with a 6:00 p.m. cocktail reception, followed by dinner. Also scheduled is a display of significant Trans-Am cars—including championship-winners like Mark Donohue’s Penske Camaros and Javelin, Parnelli Jones’s Bud Moore Mustang, and George Follmer’s Roy Woods Javelin—as well as the showing of several Trans-Am-related films.
Among the honored guests expected to appear are Parnelli Jones, George Follmer, Dan Gurney, Dick Guldstrand, Jim Hall, Carroll Shelby, Jim Jeffords, Bud Moore, Sam Posey, Tom Kendall, and Tony DeLorenzo, and more. Earlier that afternoon the evening’s emcee, Dave McClelland, will moderate a panel discussion featuring Trans-Am drivers and VIPs, called “How to Cheat in the Trans-Am.”
Tickets for the evening are on sale for $100 to Checkered Flag 200 members or $125 for nonmembers, with the Cheating Seminar carrying an additional $25 fee. For complete details and to reserve your tickets, call (323) 964-6325 or go to www.petersen.org
