Carroll Shelby has just driven Alan Guiberson’s Ferrari 375MM to victory in the Sports Car Races at Torrey Pines, California, in July of 1955, his first appearance in California. That’s Alan with the checkered flag. With this same car, Alberto Ascari and Nino Farina had won the 1953 Nürburgring 1000km, and the following year it finished 2nd in La Carrera Panamericana in the hands of Phil Hill and Richie Ginther.
