The Concorso Italiano 2012 will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Bertone Design when the event returns Friday, August 17th to the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey, California.
The Cars of Bertone will be the centerpiece of the 27th annual Concorso Italiano, with Bertone displaying several concept cars to North America for the first time in honor of the anniversary.
Over the years, many of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers have commissioned Bertone to create cars that have become benchmarks for auto design and icons of Italian style, including Ferrari; Lamborghini; Maserati; Alfa Romeo; Fiat; Lancia; Iso; Aston Martin; BMW; Jaguar; Citroen; Opel; Mazda; Volvo; Ford; and Chevrolet.
Italian production car designs include the Lancia Stratos, Lamborghini Miura and Countach, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, Giulietta SS and Montreal, Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, Fiat X1/9, 850 Spider and Dino Coupe and Maserati Khamsin.
Bertone has a 20-year history at Concorso Italiano and Lilli Bertone, the automotive design company’s president, is scheduled to participate at the 2012 event in Monterey. Bertone announced that her company wants to share this historic celebration with the most enthusiastic supporters of Italian automobiles in the world.
“Bertone has produced some of the most beautiful and historically important automobiles. It is my hope that many of those cars can be brought to this special centennial event”, said Bertone.
