Three-time F1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart will join American racing star Scott Pruett as honored guests at the annual Picnic in the Park during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday August 15. There they will sit down with racing historian Murray Smith to share experiences and lessons from their careers in the sport, then field questions from fans enjoying their own lunches on the lawn.
Building on a Hall of Fame career in karting, the still active Pruett has become one of America’s most accomplished racers, with multiple championships in Grand-Am (five), Trans-Am (three) and IMSA GTO (two), as well as five overall wins in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, an overall victory at Sebring’s 12 Hours and a class win for Corvette at Le Mans, not to mention a pair of Indycar wins. He’s also an award-winning vintner.
Stewart actually made his U.S. racing debut at the circuit in 1965, driving a factory Lotus Cortina in a USRRC race then, of course, went on to win the Formula One World Championship in 1969, 1971 and 1973.
