Fantastic photos! Any of the #77 VW Rabbit from Group 2?
I do. I’ll get some proofs out to you.
Hi SCD,
Glad to see Jim Pace still out there having fun. Terry Erwood, Bob Dotson and Jim were my “YUNGAH”/Skippy School instructors at Sebring in April 1989. They had a BIG shoe horn and squeezed me into one of Skippy’s Formula Ford school cars — a long chassis Crossell I think. Best three days ever in my “Pyrotect “jammies” ever. So Jim, keep on keepin on

I didn’t see Jim Pace or the McLaren, and I was there dawn to dusk all three days. I went purely for Can Am, so can’t see how I missed him.
There was open practice on Thursday. That’s when I took these.
Dave
Huh – I saw him in the program, but I guess he left. I was there before eight Friday morning – hate that I missed seeing the car
Loved the big V8’s in group 5. Any pictures of the #47 blue mustang? or the red #111
I took a lot of photos. I hope to upload them this weekend. I have some photos from Friday up.
Looking forward to seeing more pics Steve. Great pics!!
Thank you. Saturday photos are ready. Just go to my website
I took a photo of the blue #47 Mustang and several other Group 5 cars. Post your email or a way to contact you if you’d like a print. That is, if SCD doesn’t have what you need.
Grecomas@aol.com. Thanks
Hi Greg, I do have a few of the two Mustangs. If interested in seeing proofs, e-mail me at dcferg@bellsouth.net

These superb photos prove how beautiful the cars were prior to the arrival of down force aerodynamics, which turned the cars into ScFi Fantasy-looking space ships.
These cars look awful with those hideous “wings” on. The day that the “wings” arrived, it spoiled motor racing forever. If a driver has to have these fitted to race, then he or she should not be driving.. These were fitted so that the car “may” go the odd second faster !
You could say the same thing about skinny tires vs fat tires. Pre-war shapes v/s the sleek look of the 60s and 70s. I always thought racing, and good race car design was about the evolution of finding ways to go faster. We all love our “vintage” cars. For me at age 66, the ones I grew up watching back in the 60’s and 70’s are my favorites. For the younger generations it’s probably the more modern cars…the ones they grew up watching. Maybe the 90’s or even the current cars. Something for all ages. Let’s not trash the newer cars coming into the fold just because they are not your favorites. If you were in your teens or twenties, your favorites might be those Benneton Judd V10s, or Travis’ Audi R8 or even my Dallara IP 8. lol. Tell me it’s not exciting watching a ground-effects car go through turn one all but flat! What ever the car, having it retire in some museum or covered up in someone’s race shop or garage…? I hope not. Let’s race our art and let the world never forget any of these cars. They all have their place in racing history.
Dave-I had the red March Formula Atlantic #45 at the Mitty. I want to buy pic #62, Have any other shots?
