Kevin Mackay officially opened Corvette Repair in 1985, renting a one-bay garage out of an auto repair shop in Valley Stream, New York. At the time, he didn’t know that there was going to be a need for high-end restorations and repairs for Corvettes. By 1987, Mackay had constructed a new custom-built facility to accommodate a growing audience of Corvette collectors. Over the past the 27 years, Mackay and his team of 10 technicians and support staff have created an organization with a reputation for repairing and restoring some of the most famous Corvettes in Chevrolet history. A small sampling of the long list of important cars that have come through his doors include: the class winning 1960 Briggs Cunningham Le Mans racer (car #3); the 1962 Yenko Gulf Oil racer; the 1966 Penske racer; the 1969 Rebel racer (all four of these racecars taking class wins at either Le Mans, Daytona or Sebring); Duntov’s experimental CERV II; the Pininfarina Car; and the XP-819 experimental car.

Corvette Repair’s restorations have claimed countless awards, including NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold, Triple Diamond and numerous others. In addition to their award-winning restorations, Corvette Repair is also well-known for a number of unique specialty vehicles they’ve created, including the “Driveable Chassis,” “Suspended Corvette,” “Cutaway Corvette,” and the “See-Thru-Corvette.” Mackay’s judging experience, of over 25 years, as an NCRS master judge and Bloomington Gold Benchmark judge, has given him the necessary insights to be able to restore and prepare award-winning Corvettes. Mackay has even received the highest Corvette honor by being inducted into the Bloomington Gold Great Hall.
