In a recent editorial, Casey Annis bemoaned wind tunnels and the negative effect they have had on racing car aesthetics. He wrote this before the 2014 cars were unveiled and from what I have now seen, they have looks only a mother could love.
Modern aerodynamics concentrate on two things: creating a low pressure area beneath the car and directing air to the underside of the rear wing—the rear wing being vital because it is one of the most valuable spaces to sell to sponsors.
