Lime Rock Park General Manager Steven Sewell has announced the scenic Connecticut circuit’s 2017 major spectator event schedule, a calendar that is once again highlighted by the Labor Day weekend staging of Historic Festival 35, the track’s annual celebration of vintage racecars.
Historic Festival 35, set for the weekend of September 1-4, will showcase close to 2,000 historic, vintage, racing and collector cars over its four days, featuring activities ranging from racecar parades in town through three dozen vintage races to the prestigious Sunday in the Park Concours on the track’s Sam Posey Straight.
The track’s other racing weekends, featuring more contemporary vehicles, are: The Pirelli World Challenge and Sunday Royals Car Show on Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28; IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge on the midsummer weekend of July 21-22; and the Ferrari Challenge Festival at a date yet to be announced.
