Ferrari 250 GT California SpiderAfter a successful inaugural year, Rise & Drive is back in 2015 giving Chicago-area car enthusiasts another season of events.

Rise & Drive is downtown Chicago’s only monthly automotive gathering and takes place at the Soldier Field South Parking Lot in Chicago’s Museum Campus. The views of Lake Michigan and the Soldier Field Stadium provide a backdrop for all different types of cars.

Vendors from the community are getting more involved with Rise & Drive this year by providing financial support as well as attending events. Local racing school Team Stradale brought a Radical race car for guests to see, while NASCAR truck race driver Camden Murphy stopped by with his latest truck.

Rise and Drive Chicago 2015 takes place once a month from May through October. Admission is free and open to the public. Registration is required for attendance and can be completed on-site or in advance through the event website. Bringing a car for show is not required for admittance, and cars of any type are welcome. There will also be food available for purchase from local Chicago food trucks.

This year, Rise & Drive is partnering with local charity Ronald McDonald House (RMH) near Lurie Children’s to raise funds in support of families with children receiving treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital. RMH provides care and comfort through housing, meals, and a home-like atmosphere to help alleviate the outside stresses associated with having a child in the hospital. Free coffee has been provided by the Rock ‘n’ Roll McDonald’s in River North, and donations collected will go directly to RMH.
