San Marino Motor Classic 2015 – Report and Photos

The San Marino Motor Classic: Design in Motion was staged on June 14, 2015 at Lacy Park in San Marino, California. Over 300 cars were displayed on the lawns of the beautiful 30-acre park, all gathered for the public to enjoy and share their beauty and history.

The San Marino Motor Classic 2015 featured 34 classes of cars, which included examples from Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Packard, Cadillac, Jaguar, Bugatti, Hispano-Suiza and Rolls-Royce.

“We’re entering our fifth year of putting on a solid car show,” said Aaron Weiss, event co-founder and co-chair. “We produce a standout spectacle not only for car enthusiasts, but for our benefiting charities. Whether it’s pre-war, post-war, hot rods — even motorcycles — we have a great show for everyone to enjoy.”

Car enthusiast and local TV station KABC 7’s Automotive Specialist Dave Kunz and racing royalty Ed Justice, Jr. emceed this year.

Best in Show Post War at the San Marino Motor Classic 2015 went to the 1950 Ferrari 195 Inter Berlinetta of Don Williams, while the Nethercutt Collection’s 1913 Mercedes-Benz was awarded Best in Show Pre-War. Other notable winners included the 1956 AC Bristol owned by Julia Rosenstock; the 1929 Duesenberg Model J Phaeton owned by Doug Skeen; the 1931 Packard Series 845 Dietrich Sports Phaeton owned by Rob and Jeannie Hilarides; the Nethercutt Collection’s 1931 Bugatti Du Bois Coupe; the 1956 Porsche 356 Speedster owned by Ben andJudy Reiling and the Petersen Automotive Museum’s 1932 Ford Deuce 0032.

The San Marino Motor Classic was co-founded by Aaron Weiss, Paul Colony and Ben Reiling. The event is the successor of the Los Angeles Concours d’Elegance. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA and the Rotary Club of San Marino. Since its inception in 2010, the San Marino Motor Classic has raised over $800,000 for the three beneficiaries.
