The Hill Family and L.A.’s Petersen Automotive Museum marked the 50th Anniversary of Phil Hill’s 1961 World Championship for Ferrari at the museum last November with a tribute to America’s first F1 titlist during which various contemporaries shared memories of and stories about him.
The evening was highlighted by a discussion—moderated by Hill’s long-time collaborator, John Lamm—among Jesse Alexander, Dan Gurney, Jim Hall, Parnelli Jones and Denise McCluggage, as well as Phil’s wife, Alma, and son, Derek, but also featured an excellent short film produced by Derek Hill and Alex King capturing highlights from Phil’s career.
