Highlighting Russo and Steele’s 15th annual Monterey Auction on the waterfront near Fisherman’s Wharf this August 13-15 will be the offering of a couple of cars once owned by legendary singer Frank Sinatra — in observance of what would have been his 100th birthday.
The first of these is a green 1976 Jaguar XJS Coupe that was a wedding present from his wife, Barbara Marx, and which is accompanied by an extensive documentation file that includes the original window sticker, owner’s manual and sales paperwork, as well as the car’s California title as signed by Mr. Sinatra. The second is a peacock blue 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow that was Sinatra’s own gift to his new wife.
The current owner was able to acquire both cars, reuniting the “Sinatra His and Her” machines in private ownership. Both have been well maintained, and are offered in much the same condition in which they have been kept since new, and are being offered with No Reserve.
