A few years ago, I paid my ten Euros at the Nordschleife, formerly the Nürburgring, and set off in a Mini Cooper S. The aim was not to drive fast, but to appreciate the layout.
There are combinations of three, four or five corners in short order, followed by a straight. Get the line wrong at the first corner and you are likely to mess up the others, but then you have respite. The circuit is sheer genius, it has an element of forgiveness, and that came as a surprise.
