The Russo and Steele Monterey Auction 2013 will be held August 15-17 nearby Fisherman’s Wharf on the waterfront in downtown Monterey, California. The 13th annual Russo and Steele Monterey sale will see more than 200 cars cross the block in Russo’s ‘Auction in the Round’ format.
Among the headline entries at the 2013 Russo and Steele Monterey sale include the 1962 Shelby Cobra Independent Competition Roadster; 1981 Jaguar XJR-4 Trans Am; 1949 Ferrari 166 Inter Berlinetta; 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Spider Conversion; 1967 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster; among others.
In 2012, Russo and Steele offered 281 cars, with 158 finding new owners, reflecting a 56.2% sales rate. The total sales volume was $9,949,920 and the average price per car sold was $62,974. Top sale went to the 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 Roadster at $781,000, followed by the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupe at $379,500 and the 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS at $363,000. The Russo and Steele Monterey Auction 2013 will be staged August 15-17 on the waterfront in Monterey, a change instituted last year. The new location is still in downtown Monterey, now adjacent to the Fisherman’s Wharf on Del Monte Avenue and Figueroa Street. The auction preview will be held August 14th through 17th, with the auction taking place Thursday, August 15th through Saturday, August 17th at 5:00pm each evening. General admission tickets are $20 per day or $55 for a three-day pass. Bidder registration is $150 and includes admission for two to the preview and auction.
