As a prelude to this year’s La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, scheduled for April 6-8 in the Southern California seaside city, the Porsche San Diego La Jolla Tour d’Elegance — set for Saturday, April 7, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. — will let participants begin their day with a delectable breakfast sponsored by Solace Realty as they check in at the recently renovated dealership of Porsche San Diego.
The Tour will then head out for Chuck Spielman’s Only Yesterday Museum, which is home to a magnificent stable of classic autos spanning from the 1930s to the present, along with a priceless collection of military memorabilia that has been recognized by the world-renowned Smithsonian Institute.
The Tour’s next stop will be a timeless collection of some of the most sought after classic automobiles in the world — the Calumet Collection. Two of the more than 20 cars that Tour participants will see at the Calumet Collection are the only Phantom V State Landaulettein in the U.S. (also known as the “Queen’s Car” for its long history of royal possessors) and the 1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost featuring a bullet hole still remaining from the original owner, mobster Nucky Johnson.
After a magnificent coastal drive, a delicious BBQ lunch will be served on San Diego’s only private beach at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, where diners will be treated to a flyover by multiple vintage planes. For complete information please visit www.lajollaconcours.com
