Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains above trendy Malibu, California, lies an artifact from the history of automobile racing in Southern California, Paramount Ranch. During the mid-1950s, the venue, which served as the setting for a number of western movies when owned by Paramount Studios, provided an abundance of excitement as the raucous sound of racing sports cars filtered through the surrounding trees. Artist Therese Conte has recreated the excitement of those days with her original painting of this scene from the track’s history, and posters of it are available for purchase, with all proceeds benefitting projects in the nearby Cornell Community.
