Mecum Kissimmee 2013 – Auction Preview

The Mecum Auctions Kissimmee 2013 sale will be staged January 18-27 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The expanded, ten-day Kissimmee auction will see more than 3,000 vehicles and 1,200 items of automotive memorabilia cross the stage in Florida.

Last year’s Mecum auction at Kissimmee proved a resounding success, with in excess of 1,500 vehicles selling for a grand total of over $58 million in sales with a 73% sell-through rate.

The 2013 event is set to be no less impressive, with thousands of cars, motorcycles, and pieces of automobilia available in this highly anticipated event on the collector car calendar. This year’s auction, likely to be the largest single offering of collector cars in the world, will likely set the pace for another year of exciting sales, as more and more interesting cars resurface to go to new homes.

The Mecum Kissimmee 2013 auction features a broad group of hundreds of Corvettes and more than 30 Shelby Mustangs – including the 1966 Shelby Mustang Group II Trans Am Racer from the Florida collector Rick Davis. Also taking bids will be an impressive selection of Corvettes and unrestored muscle cars offered from the John Justo Collection, in addition to many important selections from the Collins Collection such as the 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster.

Other notable consignments at the Mecum Kissimmee sale include an all-original 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda; 1968 Ford Mustang Lightweight; 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Big Brake Tanker; 1971 Chevrolet Corvette ZR2 Convertible; 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06; 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 and a factory lightweight 1963 Pontiac Tempest Lemans; among many others.

Mecum will also introduce Road Art Monday into the 2013 lineup, with Monday, January 21st dedicated to the auctioning of automotive road art and memorabilia. Each of the other nine days will still begin with 20 to 30 of these auction starters and two investment-grade pieces per hour after that; Monday is an added bonus. Road Art Monday will feature over 500 pieces bringing the auction total to over 1,200 pieces of memorabilia to choose from over the course of the 10-day event.
