For more than a quarter of a century, Mecum Auctions has staged a collector-car auction in Kansas City, Missouri, and that tradition continues this March 24-25 when the world’s largest collector-car auction company returns to the Kansas City Convention Center with some 700 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more.
Highlighting the consignments are a 1970 Shelby GT500 Fastback, one of just 789 Shelbys produced that model year, and a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 (above, Andrew Thompson photo courtesy of Mecum Auctions) believed to have 13,500 original miles, mostly original code-J Rangoon Red Paint and an original black bench-seat interior. Other consignments include a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda, a 1977 Porsche 911S Wide Body and a 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS Convertible fresh from a two-year frame-off restoration.
The Convention Center’s doors open daily at 8 a.m., with the auction kicking off with Road Art® at 9:30 a.m. and collector cars coming on at 10. For complete information please visit www.Mecum.com
