A Jaguar C-Type once raced by Juan Manuel Fangio claimed victory in the 1949-1954 at this year’s Le Mans Legend driven by John Young, posting the car’s 22nd vintage race win from 25 starts. Entered by JD Classics, the Jag was chased home by its stablemate Cooper T33 in the hands of company MD Derek Hood.
“This year’s Le Mans Legend field was undoubtedly the toughest it’s ever been,” said Hood afterward, “so our C-Type and Cooper T33 completing a class one-two finish is something we’re extremely proud of. It also cements our ex-Fangio C-Type as the most successful of its kind in historic racing today – and that’s down to the world-class engineers we’ve got in our Competition Department.”
