The 10th Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place July 11-13 and will feature a vast selection of the best cars highlighted at Goodwood over the past 10-years. On March 19, Lord Charles March held a preview to demonstrate some of the rare machinery that will take part in this year’s event. Some of the stunning cars which made demonstration runs up and down Lord March’s “driveway” included an ex-Schumacher Benetton F1, the 1959 Le Mans-winning Aston Martin, a BAR-Honda F1, a Mercedes Benz W196, and a Lotus 49 driven by ex-works Lotus driver Jackie Oliver. Other celebrities present to help kick off the event included John Surtees, Derek Bell, Jochen Mass, Murray Walker, and even rock star Jay Kay from Jamiroquai.
In addition to demonstration runs by several modern F1 and World Rally teams, this year’s Festival will also highlight the 100th anniversary of Ford with one of Goodwood’s signature automotive sculptures as well as a never before seen gathering of every Ford Cosworth-powered World Championship-winning car.
