• RM’s annual central London sale at Battersea Evolution returns October 31. Unquestionably, the star of the sale is an ultra-rare, alloy-bodied 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. The 20th of just 29 such cars built by the factory, chassis 198043-5500786 was originally delivered new to a Swiss industrialist, finished in white with red leather interior (Estimate: £2.5m–£3.2m).
