The Artcurial Motorcars sale is an annual fixture of the Retromobile classic car show in Paris, and one of the most important collector car auctions in the world. February’s 2015 sale was the largest ever held in continental Europe, realizing €48M / $52M. It starred the extraordinary Baillon Collection, the star of which was a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider that sold for a world record €16.3 M / $18.5M, the highest price for any car sold at auction this year.
Artcurial Motorcars’ next Retromobile sale, to be held on February 5, 2016, can boast several early consignments that include a pair of extremely rare Ferraris, a special Aston Martin and a stunning classic yacht. The two Ferraris are: a 1963 250 GT SWB Berlinetta (above), a matching numbers left-hand-drive model that is the last example built; and an ex-Gianni Agnelli 1986 Testarossa Spider, the only Spider version of that car built by Ferrari. The Aston is DB4 chassis DB4/679/L, a left-hand-drive example with its original triple-carb Vantage-spec engine, while the yacht is a 1903 Moonbeam III, the third of four yachts carrying this name to be launched between 1858 and 1920. It will be offered with no reserve. For more complete information please visit www.artcurial.com/fr/departements/artcurial-motorcars/ for more information.
