Mario Andretti, winner of the Daytona 500 in 1967, the Indianapolis 500 in 1969 and the Formula One World Championship in 1978 (above, Maureen Magee photo), as well as four Indycar National Championships and countless other races, will be honored by the International Motor Racing Research Center with the Cameron R. Argetsinger Award for Outstanding Contributions to Motorsports.
The presentation will take place at the fourth annual IMRRC dinner on Thursday, August 31 at the Corning Museum of Glass, One Museum Way, Corning, New York, three days before the 2017 running of the Verizon IndyCar Series Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the International Motor Racing Research Center, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, whose mission is to preserve and share the history of motorsports — all series and all venues — worldwide. For complete information please visit www.racingarchives.org
