The 28th running of the Baxter Auto Parts Portland Historic Races, to be held July 9–11, will feature racing legend Parnelli Jones, as well as a full field of Historic Trans-Am machines. Jones, who is one of the most recognizable names in American auto racing, will be reunited with his #15 Bud Moore-prepared Boss 302 Mustang, the car he drove to victory in the 1970 Trans-Am Driver’s Championship. Jones will be joined by a full field of original Trans-Am racecars, raced from 1966 to 1972, which make up the Historic Trans-Am Group. In addition to the Trans-Am feature, this year’s Portland Historics will also feature a full slate of historic racing; a display of more than 900 collector cars and hot rods; a family zone; a vendor midway; an upscale food and wine pavilion; and a new event, vintage motorcycle races presented by Vmoto.
