Early consignments have been announced for the Bonhams Scottsdale 2013 auction, scheduled for Thursday, January 17th at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Among the headline entries for the 2nd annual Bonhams Arizona auction is a car known as “Le Petite Royale”, the 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Faux Cabriolet with coachwork by Veth and Zoon. At its debut, The Motor magazine said the Type 46 “combines the luxury of a large limousine, the perfect flexibility and top gear performance of a thoroughbred, with the perfect road holding, speed and acceleration of a sports model.” The sporting Type 46 was among the best of the Molsheim models, and this particular car on offer – the recipient of a concours-level restoration – is reported to be among the best in existence.

Other notable entries at the 2013 Bonhams Scottsdale sale include a fully restored 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, finished in strawberry with tan interior, and a 1931 Cord L-29 Cabriolet, a 1957 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Class Winner that is offered from long-term private ownership.

The Bonhams Scottsdale auction will be held Thursday, January 17th, 2013 at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Admission to the Bonhams Arizona sale comes with purchase of a catalog for $75, which admits two people.
