On June 9-11, 2000, the Vintage Drivers Club of America will hold “The Gold Cup Historic Races” as part of Virginia International Raceway’s official reopening. An active road racing circuit in the ’50s ’60s & ’70s, VIR fell into disuse until vintage racer and developer Harvey Seigel acquired the property and began rennovations.
As part of the grand re-opening of this scenic and historic track, VIR is encouraging all drivers, cars and crew members that raced on VIR’s 3.27-mile road circuit to attend this event as a special “homecoming”.
