Brian Redman inaugurated Targa Sixty Six in 1991 as an event for the owners of vintage and modern high performance and collector cars who may not necessarily wish to race them, but who like to drive at speed under controlled conditions — in the company of others with similar interests. The 2016 edition of Targa Sixty Six will take place February 19-21 at Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, Florida.
Each of the Targa Sixty Six events has provided three days of track use where members can expect to have between six and eight hours of track time over the course of the weekend — more if they feel up to it! The normal schedule opens at 9:30 a.m. and runs to 4:30 p.m., with circuit safety provided by track marshals, an EMS vehicle and staff. Lunch will be served at the track all three days, and on the Saturday evening there will be a semi-formal (jacket and tie) dinner with a special guest speaker, Dennis Gage of the My Classic Car television show.
