The Luftgekühlt gathering of the air-cooled Porsche faithful has been rescheduled for November 1, 2020. In the Porsche vernacular, Luftgekühlt represents all the air-cooled cars in the manufacturer’s history, from the Pre-A 356 through the 993 model line, which ended in 1998.
A true Porsche happening, Luftgekühlt is an experiential car culture event centered around a tightly curated list of historically significant or interesting cars, both race and street. There is no set formula for these events, other than cool venues, fun people, and creative expression, so you can bet those elements will always be included. The team strives to develop wild ideas that celebrate the passion for all things air-cooled, including exciting collaborations with likeminded people and brands.
According to the organizers:
In light of the global Coronavirus pandemic, we feel it is our responsibility to postpone Luftgekühlt 7. The new date of this year’s event has been moved to November 1, 2020.
The decision was made with regard to recommendations from local and national health authorities and after consultation with the city of Durham, North Carolina, and our venue hosts.
We are happy to assure you that the original location and format of our previously scheduled gathering will remain intact for this fall, subject to us all doing our part and getting through this challenging period.
Updates and ticket information will come at a later date via our website mailing list and social channels.
“I would personally like to thank all the friends and followers of Luftgekühlt for their understanding,” said Patrick Long, founder of Luftgekühlt. “The event is our passion project and we’re determined to deliver on our promise to bring Luft 7 to the East Coast, but there is something much more serious going on in the world at the time being and this decision was taken in response to that.”
