Porsche-Gordini: Motorsport’s Little Frankenstein

Considered one of the most bizarre concepts to ever bear the name of the Stuttgart brand, today we revisit the history of the unique Porsche-Gordini. For half a decade, this vehicle was a recurring presence on South American racetracks, challenging its more conventional Porsche counterparts on equal terms.

Delfosse: The Man Behind The Idea

Before discussing the car itself, special mention must be made of the creator of this strange machine, and that was Curt Delfosse. Curt, just one of the many figures in the fascinating world of post-war motorsports, was the eldest son of a line of mechanics and engineers from Cologne, whose most prominent figure was Curt’s father, who had been a small-time assembler of mopeds and airplanes in the early 1900s.
