The third annual Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance will be staged this Saturday, May 2, at North Carolina’s world famous Pinehurst Resort. Featured will be some of the most historic and rare automobiles, all staged on the fairways of the iconic golf resort.
Known as the birthplace of golf in the United States, Pinehurst has hosted more golf championships than any other site in America, including the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, PGA Championship, a Ryder Cup match, PGA Tour Championship and U.S. Amateurs.
Pinehurst is situated in the Sandhills of North Carolina with more than seven million people living within a 100-mile radius, including the thriving cities of Charlotte and Raleigh. Each year, the Pinehurst Concours honors troops stationed at Fort Bragg with the popular Iron Mike Rally. Fort Bragg is home to the famed 82nd Airborne Division, as well as the primary training facility for the Army Special Operations Forces.
Charlotte-based RK Motors has announced it will display a pristinely restored 1934 Duesenberg convertible sedan (above) that will compete in the event’s “Pre-War American” category featuring a selection of open and closed classics built before 1942.
