Almost a month after announcing, at the USGP, that he was attempting to create an All-American Formula One team for 2003, Dan Gurney announced late in October that he was not able to raise sufficient financial backing to launch the team properly in 2003. However, Dan did say that the group would continue to pursue other funding possibilities, in the hope of once again fielding an American racing effort in Formula One.
