The Classic Sports Racing Group (CSRG) has announced that the feature aspect of its 12th annual Charity Challenge at Sonoma Raceway on October 2-4 will be Masters HGP, the leading historic Grand Prix series in the world. It will be joined by a 50th Anniversary celebration of the Alfa Romeo GTA, a Formula Junior Historics North America National meeting and an outing for the Historic Atlantic Alliance, the top Formula Atlantic group in the U.S.
The Charity Challenge is CSRG’s annual showcase event, with more than 250 cars of all different types, machines that were the genesis of sports car racing in the U.S. in the early 1950s. A vital part of the weekend’s activities will be the midday “buy a ride” program for spectators where various racecars will be made available for three-lap rides around Sonoma Raceway in return for a tax-deductible donation to the Sonoma chapter of The Speedway Children’s Charities.
