The Leake Dallas Fall 2014 auction was held November 21-23 at Dallas Market Hall in Texas, resulting in $10.5 million in total sales and a 76% sell-through rate. During the three-day event, 502 vehicles crossed the two-lane auction block and buyers came from the United States, Canada and across Europe.
The top result at Leake’s 2014 Dallas Fall sale went to the 1978 Glenn Pray Duesenberg Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton that sold for $310,750. The Duesenberg was the last car to receive a sequential serial number from the Auburn Cord Duesenberg factory.
“This was an extraordinary auction,” stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. “We were very successful with the debut of our Platinum Series in Dallas, which included nine unique cars, like the Glenn Pray Duesenberg. The response to this series was incredible, and we are excited about its future growth.”
Other notable results included the trademark, licensing and manufacturing rights to the Cord Automobile that brought $242,000, a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette that made $146,300, the 1956 Chevrolet Nomad that sold for $134,200 and the 1985 Ferrari Testarossa at $104,500.
