In looking for some Formula 5000 video, we recently stumbled across this fantastic piece of a documentary on YouTube that was mistakenly labeled. This 3-minute video segment features racing legend Frank Gardner taking the viewer on a lap of Oulton Park, in 1973.
The quality of the video is excellent (not always the case on YouTube) and the segment features Gardner talking us through how he manhandles his Chevrolet Camaro around Oulton Park. The video alternates between in-car footage of Frank at work and in-car footage out the windscreen, with Gardner doing the voice-over. Of particular interest, note the narrowness of the track relative to the size of the Camaro and the multitude of barriers and obstacles at close proximity! Be sure to turn the volume up for full effect.
