Few automobile marques evoke images of style, speed and sports better than the Prancing Horse of Ferrari. Fortunately for motorsports fans, Ferrari North America will give them ample reason for such appreciation by returning its popular Ferrari Challenge race series to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California this May 21–22.
The weekend’s races will be part of the all-new Ferrari 458 Challenge, with the fifth and latest generation of race-equipped challenge cars from Corse Clienti. This exclusive department features racing among 599XX, FXX and F1 Clienti programs.
“The Ferrari Challenge will be a thrilling season opener for Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,” said Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “Anyone who is even remotely interested in motorsports will thoroughly enjoy the sights and sounds of these modern race cars, beautifully restored historic racers and the world’s premier Formula 1 cars racing through the Corkscrew.”
Ever since the days of Enzo Ferrari, the Italian automaker maintains close ties with owners and the privateers who carry on the Ferrari racing tradition worldwide. The Ferrari Challenge is designed to allow Ferrari owners to compete on some of the world’s most famous race tracks, and over the years has provided joy for not only the drivers competing, but also the millions of enthusiasts who enjoy watching Ferraris in motion in their natural environment, the race track.
