La Leggenda di Bassano for the Trofeo Giannino Marzotto is a regularity run on the international FIVA calendar, organized exclusively for Sport-Barchetta cars built until 1960. Traversing some 600 kilometers from Bassano del Grappa to Merano and back again, this year’s event was held June 16-19 over the most challenging roads of the Dolomites (above, photo courtesy Zanella Rallyreport), and this year treated participants to a full spectrum of difficult weather — rain, hail, wind and snow.
Among this year’s contestants was two-time World Rally Champion Miki Biasion, who took part as the brand ambassador for the event’s new sponsor, Eberhard & Co., driving a Devin D Porsche from 1959.
The overall winners, however, were Keil Horst and Gino Perbellini in a 1950 Jaguar Biondetti Special, and as part of their reward each was presented with a Tazio Nuvolari Solo Tempo chronograph from Eberhard. Taking 2nd overall were Philippe Jolly and Salvatore Guerreri in a 1927 Amilcar CG SS, while the 3rd-place finishers were Manoel Jolly and A. Jolly in another Amilcar CG SS, theirs a Compressore model from 1926.
The Team trophy was presented by Biasion to Brescia Corse, while the Maria Teresa de Filippis Trophy for the winning female team went to Maria Fernandez and Maria Villasenior in a 1952 Allard J2X.
Among the other prizes distributed were: the 100 years of BMW Award that went to Maximo Baccanelli and Maria Paula Salimei in a 1938 BMW 328 Roadster; the Maserati Award, given to Luigi Berton and Matteo Garzaro who drove a 1956 Maserati A6 GCS; the Fiat Award, presented to Andrea Giacoppo and Daniela Tecioiu Grillone in a 1933 Fiat 508 Spider Sport; and the Alfa Romeo Award, taken home by Nicholas and Gabriel Fonte in a 1933 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Touring.
